Pros:
Intel Atom N455, 1 GB of DDR3 RAM, huge touchpad, large keyboard
Disadvantages:
No dedicated graphics chip set
Bottom line:
Toshiba NB305-440 is an updated version of the Toshiba NB305-310 back in April, checks so that the NetBook this model is very similar to, which I reviewed positively; However, this model with a few things is updated, the more including the Intel Atom N455 1.66 GHz processor (one of the most recent) and support for DDR3 RAM allow. As a whole is the Toshiba NB305-440 is a stellar NetBook for it $353.99 price and it continues to provide the long tradition a large keyboard and touchpad for maximum ease of use in a NetBook. You can’t go wrong with the Toshiba NB305-440 (see more about this model at Amazon.com). The full report will be continued after the break.
Fast product specs:
Intel Atom N455 1.6 GHz, 1 GB of DDR3 RAM, 160 GB hard drive, Windows 7 Starter (see full details)
Design:
The NetBook is soft rounded edges around all sides of the NetBook and frost white on the outer and inner. The Frost white is balanced by the chrome colored hinges and the power button is colored bar in the middle of the chrome. I am personally not a fan of section big chrome such as I, think it looks too bulky, but I love the rest of the design. The NetBook is to almost 1.25 cm high (battery thanks partially due to the Ardennes offensive, 6 cells) so that, if you are looking for a thin and sleek design it not be this. About the size and my complaints about the chrome bar, the NetBook looks good.
Usability:
This is where really shines the Toshiba NB305-440 – it has a large keyboard and touchpad roomy. It is the newer chiclet style keyboard offers more space between each key to give it more easily. This is the same keyboard style of each other Toshiba NetBook I’ve checked and it is nice to see that they do not change it. Keyboard is very simple, and give you, and I was able to desktop keyboard with full speed in less than a few minutes after the setting of my type. The touchpad is very responsive, and did I mention that it is very large? Yes, Toshiba has almost always the largest touch pad and it is very easy in Web surfing and different functions for this NetBook of some of its competitors of who skimp real estate on the touchpad.
The 1024 x 600 resolution is back again in this model, and as I have said on numerous occasions before I think it’s time we start 768 screens on current generation NetBook see more higher resolution models 1366 x; However, if you want to use your NetBook as most people do (, Facebook etc. play this is input e mail, papers, browsing the Web no problem). This NetBook have a glossy screen, so that if a matte option you would prefer, instead, I suggest that the relatively cheap Samsung N230 checkout I checked you recently.
Battery life:
Toshiba NB305-440 gets about 8 hours of battery life, which is more than enough for most users. If you necessarily check a higher battery life out the NetBook comparison grid for other Netbooks with 6 cells. The NetBook is rated for 11 hours, but I have up to 8 hours battery life (most manufacturers come up with this number by using less brightness etc..) is to be expected.
Total power:
Overall I think the Toshiba NB305-440 does everything better than its predecessor in most places such as performance and battery life; However, I have still to see improved graphical performance and a higher resolution screen. Keyboard and touchpad are top notch in the industry and the build quality of this NetBook is bigger than most Netbooks Jack. To decide the only thing you really need is, if you have better graphical capabilities and if you do, I suggest built in looking for a NetBook with NVIDIA ion or a Broadcom HD card. If this is not to you role then I recommend checking out Toshiba mini NB305 N440 as the price is only $353.99
