Build and design

I noticed two things when I first picked up the Seagate GoFlex slim. First of all, as the name implies, it is extremely thin for a portable hard drive. The thickness of only 9 mm means that it is thinner than the pen, which I carry in my laptop bag. Secondly comes from anodized aluminum casing, which makes the drive feel wrapped in a package this hard disk much more durable than the typical plastic hard encased in sold businesses drives.

The GoFlex slim looks and feels like a premium product, and this is something that I’m not, from portable hard drives.

At first glance it is simply state drives (SSDs) errors that have flooded the market recently, the Seagate GoFlex slim for one of the many portable USB solid. In fact the GoFlex slim is only slightly larger than the Iomega external SSD flash drive despite the fact that a the GoFlex slim spinning hard drive within has. The photo right shows the GoFlex slim (below) in addition to the Iomega external SSD flash drive (above).

Although the black anodized matte is an attractive appearance GoFlex slim, I noticed that oils from fingerprints unsightly spots create skin every time when I picked up the drive. The spots are easy with a cleaning cloth remove, but it is something that you have that regularly do, if you are looking for the hard disk hold spotless want to. Brighter to note: the aluminum casing is very durable and resists scratches quite well. I wore the GoFlex slim USB flash drives loose in my laptop bag in addition to a handful of, USB cable and my car keys. After a week back and forth travel to and from work the GoFlex slim, not a single scratch.

Life really is all the more impressive considering how thin GoFlex slim is compared with the competition. GoFlex slim is about half as thick as a “typical” portable hard drive like the Western Digital my passport. If that’s not impressive enough, the GoFlex of slim, about one-third as thick is eGo as a high-capacity such as 1TB Iomega drives.

A further key feature of GoFlex slim is the use of Seagate’s “Goflex” adapter. The GoFlex adapter is essentially a modified SATA connector, which you can outsource the data connection on the outside of the drive. This allows you to the GoFlex slim, may use a different port (for example, FireWire or eSATA) “update” not only, but it you can use the drive Connect HD media player Seagate GoFlex net media sharing device or the GoFlex TV.
